I'll start! When I was pregnant with my first born, I called my mom's house when the whole family was gathered for dinner. I ask to speak with my 5 year old niece and told her. I also let her know it was a big secret and she couldn't tell anyone. We then said goodbye and hung about the phone. In about 20 secs, my sister called back and whispered, "Is it true?". I said yes and I heard the whole room erupt with excitement...I knew my niece couldn't keep a secret!

When I found out I was pregnant with my third child, I told my youngest at the time and she told everyone that mommy had a baby in her tummy. Of course she had been saying it for a while so it took everyone a few minutes to really catch on.

when we told my family I was pregnant again, I bought my 3 year old a t-shirt that said "i'm going to be a big brother". My parents were on vacation for a month when I first found out I was pregnant so we had to wait until they got back - the day they got home, we went over to see them and I put the tshirt on my son - he ran over to my mom and said "nana, take off my coat" - she read the tshirt and looked at me and was so excited!! It took my dad a little longer to figure it out - he looked at the shirt, said "nice shirt" and then got up to get a drink - all of a sudden from the kitchen I heard "wait a second! does that mean what I think it means!?". lol it was great!!

Just after my husband and I started trying for a baby, I was at a garage sale and I spotted a Sesame Street book that my dad used to love reading to me when I was little. I bought the book for a quarter but didn't tell him about it.

When we were ready to tell them I was pregnant, I wrapped up the book like a birthday present. That afternoon we were at their house for a visit and I gave my dad the book - he opened it and said, "Oh wow, I remember this!" My husband and I grinned at him and then I said, "Well, you have until the end of August to practice reading it out loud... Grandpa."

Needless to say, that was all it took for the cheering, hugging, and tears of joy to begin!
